Field Trips
THE EDUCATIONAL SNOWSPORTS PROGRAM
The best field trip you will take this year is to the Sierra Summit Mountain Resort to participate in our Educational Snowsports Program. Students will learn to ski or snowboard with our certified snowsport instructors in addition to participating in a short program about the environment and safety sponsored by the U.S. Forest Service. This program is only $20 per student and includes equipment rental, lift ticket and snowsports instruction. We’ll even provide lunch for an additional $5 per person.
Our program is a proud sponsor of the national “Winter Feels Good” campaign that educates students about the health and fitness benefits of staying active during the winter months through snowsport participation. This program will allow your students to earn credit toward a Presidential Lifestyle Award as well as give your students valuable instruction in skiing and snowboarding, allowing many of them to experience snow for the first time.
The Educational Snowsports Program is offered Monday through Friday (non-holiday) beginning in January. This program is open to Kindergarten through 12th grade students. One chaperone for every ten students is required and they enjoy the same low cost of only $20 per chaperone. Many chaperones enjoy this trip as much as the students! Non-skiing/snowboarding chaperones are also welcome (at no charge) and are very helpful with students in the base area.
Reservations and deposits are required. A $150 deposit is required for each day reserved and must be received at least 30 days in advance. Deposits can be made with a check or credit card and can be applied to your balance upon arrival. In order to ensure the best possible experience for your students, we limit the number of participants per day. So don’t wait to make your reservation.
